Romance

Men do not love any more as they would once,
And it is too hard to understand,
For those who have grown up on the staple lies
About falling stars and marvelous Galahad;
Not that the hope was in the wrong,
Nor his charm outworn to their silly minds,
But as they say, the star itself was fallen,
And the age of Romance long gone.

Narcissus

This mirror, this pool of brittle blue glass,
So true my form it shows-
My white face shines in its heart,
While 'Mesmerized', cry the forest folk.

Bears and Squirrels

All the day I am flitting through the door
Like a breath of autumn air,
That swirls the sun bleached leaves on forest floor.
I keep searching for a way back
To our rocky cave, warm with golden chestnut breeze.
