মানভঞ্জন

এক ফোঁটা, দু ফোঁটা জল,

চোখের কোণে জমে

গাঢ হয় অভিমান l

কাজল করে পরে নিই

চিঠির অঙ্গার l

তোমার আলতো ছোঁয়ার

অপেক্ষায় প্রতিটি রোমকূপ

গায় সঞ্চারী, অভোগ l

অন্তর জ্বালা

সাপ হয়ে জড়িয়ে ধর তুমি, 

আমি বিষের জ্বালায় মরি, 

পাকে পাকে ঢালো অনল, 

দংশনে নীল হয়ে যাই, 

‌বিতৃষ্ণার বাতাসে ভাসে শোক

শুধু আমি ডুবে যাই তীব্র দাঁতের  ফাঁকে। 

ব্যাথা

 বৃষ্টি স্নাত দিনে,

একলা বসে থাকি 

জানালায় পাশ ফিরে,

ধারাস্নান দেখি দু চোখ ভরে,

তেজী বৃষ্টির ফোঁটা ভিজিয়ে দেয় বুক

শীতল হয় না তবু শরীর

 ‌অবিরল আলিঙ্গনে। 

Beloved

Love comes like silent ripples 

in the heart of a lake 

and recedes like waves 

on an ebbing shore.

The torch I bear is sacred

like holy grail,

it shall never be doused 

with rain or hail.

একা ঘুম ঘোরে

আজ তুমি ঘুমিয়ে থাকো, 

আমি জেগে থাকি পাশে,

তোমার নিশ্বাস প্রশ্বাস

মেখে থাকবো বসে, 

তোমারি মনের কোণে l

কখন তুমি স্বপ্নে হাত 

বাড়াবে ভাবব একাকী,

সেই হাত ধরে বাস্তবে নামিয়ে

আনব তোমায় আমার কাছে l

পরিযায়ী

কবি হাজার বছর ধরে হেঁটেছিলেন,

ওরাও হেঁটে চলেছে অদৃশ্য লক্ষ্যে,

কবি সাধ করে পথে নেমেছিলেন

ওরা অনন্যোপায়, ওদের পায়ের 

আঘাতে ফোটে না কমল,

ঝরে শুধু ঘাম , রক্ত, ক্লেদ,

গরীব হয়ে মাসুল দেওয়ার খেদ।

দুঃখ বিলাস

লিখেছি অনেক বিষণ্ণতা

মুছেছি চোখের জল, 

কি পেয়েছি, কি পাইনি 

সব হিসেবই ছল। 

অপূর্ণতার ফাঁকে আছে 

পূর্ণতার হিরে

তাকে ভুলে, মনের খেয়ালে

ফিরলাম পথ ভুলে। 

বাঁধন

লিখতে চাইছি একটা

 ভীষণ প্রেমের গল্প, যার 

চরিত্ররা নিপুণ ভাবে বোনা

আর গল্পের শেষ টুকু

নিটোল এক গদ্য,

পদে পদে মিলিয়ে 

কবিতা হয় বটে, 

কিন্তু গল্প অসম্পূর্ণতা রেখে যায়

পাতার প্রতীকে, উড়ে যেতে

চায় ডানা মেলে এদিক সেদিক - 

প্রেমকে আখরে বাঁধা বড় দায়। 

দূরত্ব

তোমার আমার মাঝখানে

অনেক খানি ব্যবধান 

কথার সেতু পেরিয়ে তবু

দেখা হয় দিন মান। 

কথার ভিড়ে হারিয়ে যাওয়া 

অনেকটা ভালোবাসা,

বুঝতে পারি তোমার কাছে 

আমি আজও এক ধাঁধা। 

বিহন জ্বালা

রাত জেগে তাকিয়ে থেকে 

স্বপ্ন হয়ে যাই

ভরা সাগরে গাগরি

ডুবিয়ে নিয়ে যাই । 

একা একা থেকে 

মিলনের দিন গোনা-

বৈশাখী আগুনে পুড়ে 

খাঁক হয় রাই। 

Porphyria

I touched heaven tonight,
the instant made eternity
for a while as life flew in my loins,
coursing in tingling waves,
unfurling the petals of the rubied heart
that had laid asleep like myth, buried in time.
I drifted in a dreamland still awake,
my eyes knew not what they sought,
the lips sang out a holy reverie,
as my soul drank in pious delight.

City Life

Like a mortal crying for love 

in a plague ridden city ,

listless am I.

Nonchalance as a wave of 

euthanasia courses through

my blood everyday.

Somehow I'm still breathing 

like earthworms oozing mud 

behave in their soft shells.

It is not a pleasure garden lord,

but a sad bickering of sirens

breaking through the dead of the night.

A Prayer

A single tear on your cheek

I could kiss while you speak,

your words mean more and more

than all your presents beside the door.

Don't cry my heart that I have given

you away to a perfect stranger,

what would it take for you to give her

one rounded day of love without fear?

Living again

I almost died and came back to life

declining sweet tempting death, 

dressed in heartbreak that ate 

me alive but I escaped its jaws.

Regret and penance killed me 

whole but I made it through

like a child's old rag doll,

Surfacing again after thrown away.

Killing me is a promethean task

the eagle can't best me 

I'll grow again and be free

of death's clutches like the breeze. 

প্রাপ্তি

হয়ত কোনো দিন পৌঁছে যাব তোমার কাছে

বৃষ্টি যেমন হঠাৎ নেমে আসে

সবুজ ঘাসের বুকে।

বাষ্প জমা চোখে দেখব

কেমন করে গলে হিমবাহ,

কথা ফুটবে না ঘুম ঘোরে-

অস্ফুটে স্বপ্ন চারণ

আলোর খোঁজে অভিসার

রাত্রির আবডালে ।

Forgiveness

Burying the past is never easy ,

the bridges almost never burn completely,

they haunt our memories and poison

our resolve to bone slowly.

Unless we forgive these demons,

they would hunt us down and devour us whole,

wielding the knife of time through our gut 

and spill them unceremoniously.

In one perfunctory motion we'd 

end up with the dead,

floating where the waves take us ,

bleached clean of our skin,

to where only truth remains.

Song for my love

I'm trying to get through,

I'm trying my very best,

If you knew what I've been through,

You'd be scared like I'm,

But baby I promised I'll be brave and true.

So I hold on against the wind,

It blows against me in all its might

Still I'm trying hard and fresh everyday,

রূপকথা

তোমার বুকে মা‌থা রাখি নিঃশব্দে 

রাত্রি গভীর হলে ছড়িয়ে দিই কেশজাল

তোমাকে বাঁধি নাগপাশে

ধীরে ধীরে স্বপ্নের আবেশ বুনি

এক আকাশ তারা মণ্ডল গেঁথে 

তুমি ঘুমাও নিবিড় শান্তি মনে নিয়ে। 

ঘুম নেই আমার চোখে কেবলই কান্না ভাসে

ঠোঁট ভিজে যায় মায়াবী রাতে

রূপকথার এই প্রেম নিয়ে রোজ বাঁচতে ।

  

প্রতিবাদ

ঘুমিয়ে পড়লে আমি স্বপ্ন দেখি না, 

দেখি বিধ্বস্ত দিনের ছবি জেগে আছে

আমার মনের মাঝে লুকিয়ে, 

ঘুমের মধ্যে ছবির বিষয় বস্তু জীবন্ত হয়ে ওঠে, 

এ ওকে খোঁচা দিয়ে ভাঙতে চায়, লড়তে লড়তে 

ক্লান্ত হয়ে স্থবির হয়ে যায়, 

সজ্ঞা‌নে প্রতিবাদী না হলেও স্বপ্নে আমি বিপ্লবী।
